Upcoming presentations – Society of Industrial/Organizational Psychologists Conference

This week’s Society of Industrial/Organizational Psychologists Conference will feature several panels focused on healthcare.  On Thursday, 10:30 – 12:00, I will moderate a session on “I/O in Healthcare: Emerging Roles, Needs, and Opportunities.”  The session will feature a presentation from LENS-member Alan Cooper of Northshore-LIJ’s Center for Learning & Innovation, which will focus on their innovative work in the use of simulations.  The panel will also include presentations from Johns-Hopkins, Ascension Health, Rose Medical Center, and Banner Health, with foci on interdisciplinary teams, organizational change, leadership assessment, and development.

On Saturday, 12:00 – 1:30, I will serve as discussant on a session entitled “The Personality of Patient Care: Increasing Leadership Impact in Healthcare.”

There are several other healthcare-focused sessions on the program this year, which I plan to attend as I continue working on building a community of healthcare practice within SIOP.  If you are attending this year, I hope you will find me at some point in the conference to say hello and so I can connect you in with this vibrant group.
